This isn't about creating another film, this is about telling bold, powerful stories that resonate on a deep, emotional level while also giving filmmakers the platform they deserve to showcase their talent. This is our chance to see fresh, creative interpretations of justice, spanning multiple genres, all tied together by a shared purpose: to explore justice through art.
Category:
This category is for screenwriters whose scripts focus on the theme of justice but don't necessarily fit into a specific genre. Whether your story explores justice through drama, thriller, sci-fi, or any other format, we want to see how you interpret this powerful theme. We're looking for bold, thought-provoking scripts that delve into the complexities of justice, whether personal, societal, or legal. If your script pushes boundaries, crosses genres, or offer a unique perspective on justice, this category is for you. Submit your work and let your story challenge, inspire, and ignite conversation.
Script Protection and Production Rights:
All script submissions are protected by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and a Non-Circumvention Agreement. This ensures that the production company cannot produce your film without your participation. Until you enter into a formal contract with us, you retain full ownership of your work. The contract will clearly outline all terms, including your involvement in the production of your short project as part of the larger feature anthology. Rest assured, your script remains solely yours until an agreement is reached.
Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention Agreement
This Non-Disclosure and Non-Circumvention Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between the submitting party ("Submitter") and the production company ("Company") upon the submission of any screenplay, treatment, or written work ("Work") to the Echoes of Justice: The Anthology Screenwriting Contest. By submitting their Work, the Submitter agrees to the following terms and conditions:
1. Non-Disclosure of Confidential Information
The Company agrees to treat all submitted Works as confidential. Neither the Company, nor any of its employees, agents, or partners, shall disclose, share, or discuss the contents of the Work with any third party without the Submitter's prior written consent, except as necessary to evaluate the submission within the scope of this contest.

The Company agrees that it will not circumvent the Submitter in any manner. This means that the Company shall not use, produce, or develop the submitted Work, or any derivative of it, without the Submitter's knowledge and express written agreement. The Company cannot produce or adapt the Work into any film or project without the Submitter's active participation and approval, as will be outlined in any future contractual agreements.
3. Ownership of Work
The Submitter retains all ownership rights to their submitted Work. Submission of the Work does not transfer or assign any intellectual property rights to the Company. The Submitter shall maintain full ownership of the Work until a written contract is executed between the Submitter and the Company, which will outline all terms of production and collaboration.
4. No Obligation Until Contract
By submitting their Work, the Submitter is not entering into any formal production or development agreement with the Company. No obligation to produce, option, or otherwise develop the Work arises from this submission. 5. Similar Submissions
The Submitter acknowledges and agrees that the Company may receive submissions from multiple individuals or entities that contain similar themes, ideas, plots, characters, or other elements. The Company is under no obligation to compensate the Submitter for any use of materials that are similar to the Submitter's Work, if such similarities result from the independent development of another's work. The Company shall not be liable for any claims of infringement or similarity regarding any projects that the Company may develop, produce, or release, unless the Company has explicitly entered into a separate agreement with the Submitter to use their specific Work.
6. Duration
This Agreement shall remain in effect for a period of two (2) years from the date of submission, or until such time as the parties enter into a formal production contract, whichever comes first.
7. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which the Company is based, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
8. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties with respect to the non-disclosure and non-circumvention of the submitted Work, and supersedes all prior discussions, agreements, or understandings of any kind.
